God only knows how this experience will affect each of us but affected we are. Best wishes, fond farewells and hugs all around brought this mission trip to its conclusion. Tom was waiting with the luggage and we disengorged from the van. We arrived in good time, taking time to fill the van tank. The 1 hour + ride to the airport was a little somber but we all realized that all good things must come to an end-even another day in paradise. We went through the usual shoe-horning of 14 guys and their cheuffer into the van-no complaining that I could ever hear, just squeezing. It would seem that even after one week they are becoming Jamaican by contamination. The rest meandered into the yard over the next 15 minutes. The senior chaperone arrived on time at 9:15 a.m. Our 15-passenger van was airing out and waiting in the friary yard. Tom had the pick-up truck at the Rayon at 9:00 a.m. The morning began in the usual manner with a good run followed by Mass for some and breakfast for all. Glad the kids weren't here to hear some words I used! After difficulties getting signed in thanks to some bad info I was given, and thanks to modern technology like calling Dan who was at the Orlando airport (they got that far safe and sound) I finally logged in. I was asked to write this last edition of the blog since I am here, the kids are in the air and you are there. …a little more Franciscan than when they came!
